Facebook, Instagram and Twitter all support polls, and there are literally hundreds of WordPress plugins designed to make polls easy to conduct, and fun for your users (try OptionStage or WordPress Survey and Poll,) along with plenty of standalone offerings, like CrowdSignal, Survey Monkey and Poll Junkie. Whether you use social media, a 3rd party tool, or run it right on your own site, polls give your audience the chance to provide real input into your business plans and tell you exactly what they want.

You can use polls to drive critical decisions like special offers, limited time only products, or even new product designs. More importantly, when you ask your users for their opinion, you are starting a conversation with them. You are giving them some ownership in your brand experience. You are telling them they are a valued, and that you want to know how to delight them.

Of course, once the poll is complete, you still have to act on the information your users gave you. Produce that product. Make that offer. Make those users feel special. Let them know how you used the information they gave you!
